Miranda, Baby Cyrus’ aunt who was arrested along with his mother Marissa, has had her case dismissed!! Word is still awaited for Marissa’s case.
Every parent will tell you they will do anything for their child. They will fight for their child, they will die for their child. Most never have to do it…until now.
We like to believe if we do not see it, it is not happening. So we bury our heads in the sand and convince ourselves that it has nothing to do with us. If it is not shoved in our faces we are not going to watch. After all, why go searching for trouble, right?
Two weeks ago I was alerted to a story that tore at my heart and flooded my soul with righteous anger. A ten month old child was ripped from the arms of his sobbing mother by police officers and social workers.
On March 11th, Cyrus Anderson, was ripped from the arms of his mother by police officers in the state of Idaho. Baby Cyrus was sick the previous week and vomiting so his parents (Marissa and Levi) took him to St. Luke’s Pediatric Center where, after receiving terrible treatment, they were released after about a week, with Baby Cyrus having a clean bill of health, after undergoing every exam, test, and review imaginable.
They continued to take him to a local pediatric office for additional review and weigh-ins. Baby Cyrus has trouble digesting proteins currently so he can only be on breastmilk.
On Friday 11th, Marissa was feeling sick so she called the pediatric office to cancel the appointment for that day. The nurse practitioner called CPS and reported “child endangerment”. The police arrived at the house, but no one was there, so they put out a “be on the lookout” for Levi’s truck. Levi, Marissa and Cyrus were with the rest of Marissa’s family having dinner at a friend’s house. When they left, they were followed by a police officer. They were detained and backup was called. Levi was handcuffed and both Marissa and her sister (who was in the car with them) were arrested. Marissa was taken into the ambulance with Cyrus (she was told by the officer that they would not be separated), once in they proceeded to take Baby Cyrus from her arms.
Last week at the first hearing, the judge placed Baby Cyrus in foster care where he proceeded to deteriorate by not eating or sleeping. The doctor who called Levi before the hearing said that Cyrus was a healthy baby and he saw no reason why he couldn’t go home. A social worker who observed Cyrus in foster care said that “he misses his mommy”.
This weekend Baby Cyrus was given back to his parents…for now. Levi and Marissa only have Cyrus with them because they agreed to a measure of state oversight and intrusion. Meaning, CPS has to go with them to all appointments and have unlimited access to “pop in” on Levi and Marissa unannounced and all that. If they decide they don’t like any little thing, they can kidnap him again.
The adjudicatory hearing is on April 8th, when the judge will decide his permanent placement.
This act goes against our country’s Constitution, this goes against scripture…God’s law! We cannot just stand by and watch. We can no longer be as the people weeping for the pain of Jabesh-Gilead yet doing nothing about it (1 Samuel 11), it is time for us to rise up before it is too late, before we are fighting for the lives of our own children.
Unfortunately this family’s experience is not a new one. This is happening all the time…in every state; yet it goes unnoticed by the public. The news does not cover it. The media is not outraged over children being ripped from the arms of loving parents simply because the State does not like the way they are raised. Parents are not aware of what is happening next door.
Why? Because the more children in the hands of the State, the more money CPS and the system earns. It doesn’t do the media any good to share that news, they would be biting the hands that feed them. And parents? Well…the same as the rest of us, if it is not right before us it is often too hard to look for. Fighting is not easy…and we ALL know that once we are no longer in blissful ignorance…we will have to fight; and that is what I am here to do…and what I call you to do TODAY!
So from now through April 8th I call all prayer warriors, social media warriors, anyone who will hear: Lift this family up in your prayers, spread this story all over the internet, alert the news, hold these people accountable! Let them know we will NOT be easy targets! They don’t like the heat. They are scared when We the People stand up and call them out! So why remain silent? Who are you fighting for?
His parents named him Cyrus, after the King of Persia in the book of Isaiah. The king that God used to gather the faithful remnant of Israel to Himself. They believed that God had an amazing plan for their son, just as He did for King Cyrus.
I believe this has come true. I believe God is sending us a wake up call…telling us to stand up against evil, tyranny and all forces of darkness, no matter how small!
We can’t allow this to happen to devoted parents who make different choices than the State or government wants. Parents who refuse to bow down to a tyrannical government. Children do not belong to the State, but to their parents. If this is what it takes to wake us up to the evil going on in our country, if this is what it takes to hold people accountable and protect our children, to fight for parental rights in a way like never before…then so be it! Let this be our wake up call!
