I have recently gotten into experimenting with different juice recipes. It’s actually been kind of fun to play with different flavors and enjoy the health benefits! I am just starting out, and still learning, but I wanted to share a few of my favorite recipes that I have tried thus far.
How To:
The most common method for juicing is to use a juicer. However, what if you don’t have a juicer? Are you out of luck making your own juice? Or what if you don’t want to keep getting it out and putting it away and going through the hassle of cleaning it? Good news! There is another method you can try!
You can place your cut fruits and vegetables in a blender (just be sure to add in enough water so as to not damage the blade or burn out the motor), and use a small strainer to remove the excess peelings and pulp. I use this method a lot and it actually works pretty well…and avoids the extra hassle with a juicer. This is the method I will use for these recipes, but they may also be made in a juicer, if that is they way you prefer to do it.
ABC Detox Juice
This is a pretty simple recipe to remember (as long as you know your abc’s 😉 ), and has a pretty color. The apples, beets and carrots all help aid with digestion and the detoxification process. Apples and beets are also high in antioxidants and carrots are good for the eyes and energy.
- 1 Apple
- 1 Beet
- 1 Carrot
- 1/2 of a Lime
Instructions: If using a blender, cut up the apple, beet and carrot (I also peel and de-seed the apple). Squeeze in the juice of the lime (for an immune boost), and add in a little water or coconut water. Blend on high for about 30 seconds or until it’s really liquidized and is a pretty red color. Pour the mixture into a bowl or large glass through a strainer (you may have to do this a couple of times to catch all the pulp). You can drink right away or place in the fridge to chill. Enjoy!
Berry Healthy Juice
I enjoy drinking this in the morning for breakfast. It has a bit of a heartier taste for the morning and the orange and strawberries give it a bit of a sweetness to brighten up the start of your day and help boost your immune system. The tomatoes and carrots also contain antioxidants and help the eyes, heart and lungs.
- 1 Cups Fresh ORGANIC Strawberries
- 2 ORGANIC Tomatoes
- 4 Carrots
- 1 Orange
Instructions: In a blender place the cut tomatoes, carrots and strawberries and squeeze in the juice of the orange. Add in about an inch of coconut water. Blend on high for about 30 seconds or until it’s really liquidized and is a pretty red color. Pour the mixture into a bowl or large glass through a strainer (you may have to do this a couple of times to catch all the pulp). You can drink right away or place in the fridge to chill. Enjoy!
Cranberry Cleanse
If you feel a little stomach congestion or your gut feels a little out of sorts, this is a great recipe to try! All of the ingredients help aid the digestion and are good foods for the gut. The apples and pears are high in fiber, celery is a helpful for inflammation and detox, and cucumbers and cranberries are high in antioxidants. All points for helping clean the gut and digestive system! 🙂
- 1 Apple
- 1 Celery Stalk
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 Pear
- 1/2 Cup Cranberries
Instructions: Peel and de-seed the apple and pear and place all cut up ingredients into the blender. Add in about an inch of coconut water (this is also good for detoxing and helping the stomach). Blend on high for about 30 seconds or until it’s really liquidized and is a pretty red color. Pour the mixture into a bowl or large glass through a strainer (you may have to do this a couple of times to catch all the pulp). You can drink right away or place in the fridge to chill. Enjoy!
